Open House a Smashing Success

The open house for Joseph Moore’s 44th birthday was held on February 29th, 2012 from 1 pm until 1 am in the museum. The event drew about 350 visitors to the museum and excitement abounded. The day featured several special events, including the unveiling of the museum’s new Honeycreeper exhibit (showcasing museum director Heather Lerner’s research on the birds), planetarium showings, new activity stations open throughout the museum, bedtime stories in front of the mastodon, a musical performance by the New Measures, and on top of it all, the museum came to life at midnight with museum staff roaming the museum in animal costumes and amazing cupcakes!
